Goals For 2024

I like to make yearly goals for my business even if they may be a little out of reach. Having a plan keeps me motivated and on track instead of just trying a bunch of different ideas without any real purpose. Last year I set 4 goals for myself that may have been too over the top, because I was only able to meet 1 of them. You can read about that experience in a previous blog post. This year I have made 6 smaller, or at least what I hope are smaller, goals for myself:

  1. Reach 100 items in my shops

  2. Update my shop every other month

  3. Have a winter/holiday collection in 2024

  4. Make 10 online sales

  5. Do 5 in-person markets

  6. Add 5 more digital products to my shop

Reach 100 items in my shops

Reaching 100 items in my shops should be a relatively easy goal to reach. I currently have 82 active listings in my etsy shop. I need 18 more items to meet my 100 item goal and in 2023 I added a lot more than 18 items to my shop. A big wish would be to make it to 150 items with some new product lines added in but I didn’t want to set my goal too high. In 2024 I plan on adding more stickers, bookmarks, and prints to my shop!

Update my shop every other month

While I could update my shop monthly one item a month I would have more fun if I had a larger shop update every other month with 5 to 10 new items available. My first shop update will probably be scheduled for mid February so be on the lookout for those new items!

Have a winter/holiday collection in 2024

The winter holidays are my favorite time of year. I love all the lights, wearing festive sweaters, and decorating a Christmas tree. I’ve always had a dream of making custom ornaments or having my own cozy little Christmas shop. So this year I want to make a little bit of my dreams come true by having a holiday or winter collection for the season. I’ve already started some designs for next year!

Do 5 in-person markets

I love doing in-person markets so this year I want to do 5 of them. Last year I was able to do 4 of them. I did one in May, one in June, one in August, and a final one in November. For 2024 I’d like to add one in March or April for the start of the spring season. Doing markets is the highlight of my year. I like seeing how my products bring smiles to people’s faces, and also it’s where I make the bulk of my money to keep my business running.

Add 5 more digital products to my shop

This is probably the hardest to reach goal on my list. I added one digital product to my shop this year and it took much longer to make than any of my previous products. However, now that I’m more familiar with the process of making a digital product, I’m hoping that it will be easier to design more.
