Reviewing My 2023 Goals

At the start of 2023 I had big goals planned for the year. I knew going in that I wouldn’t be able to achieve all of them, but I’ve always been a “dream big” kind of person. I had four big goals that I wanted to reach by the end of the year:

  1. Make an average of 5 online sales a month

  2.  Have 100 products in my shop

  3. Make a digital product

  4. Update my shops monthly

Make an average of 5 online sales a month

Making an average of 5 online sales a month might not seem like a big goal to most people, but in 2022 I only really got about 3 online sales altogether. I thought 5 would be a big goal but not too unrealistic. This year I got 4 total sales on my etsy shop, 2 custom orders through my website, and a couple of orders through redbubble. While I did not meet my goal of 5 sales on average a month, I did improve my sales numbers from last year. Not only has my online shop improved, but my in person market events have done really well this year.

Have 100 products in my shop

Unfortunately, I did not meet this goal either. I did get very close to meeting this goal with 82 active listings in my shop right now. I also have quite a few products that are ready to be added to my shops but need photos taken of them and listings made. I expect to hit 100 products in my shop early in 2024!

Make a digital product

This goal I was able to meet! I added a printable bookmark to my website earlier this year! The bookmark is designed to track what books you’ve read in a month or year. I also expect to add more digital products such as coloring pages and more bookmarks to my shops soon.

Update my shops monthly

This was another goal that I did not meet. My expectations of what a shop update should look like were too high. I expected to put at least 5 new products in my shop every month, and I think that pressure was too much for me. If I had thought that one new product a month was enough, or even if I had done bimonthly updates with more products, I probably would have done better about updating my shops regularly.

In 2023 I learned a lot about managing my shops and what I’m able to achieve in a year. 2024 will be a better year in terms of making more manageable goals and making good plans to achieve them.
